Maxim Dlugy is a renowned American chess grandmaster, born in 1966 in Moscow, USSR. He relocated to the United States with his family in 1977 and quickly made a name for himself in the chess world. Dlugy's impressive career began to take shape when he was awarded the International Master title in 1982, a testament to his growing skill and dedication to the game.

Dlugy's achievements continued to mount, with a notable victory at the World Junior Chess Championship in 1985. The following year, he earned the prestigious Grandmaster title, courtesy of his outstanding performance at the World Chess Olympiad in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he represented the U.S. team. Dlugy has also excelled in speed chess, previously holding the top ranking in the world according to the World Blitz Chess Association.
