Erich Peter Wohlfarth

Erich Peter Wohlfarth was a German-English physicist who made significant contributions to the field of physics. Born in 1924, Wohlfarth's work primarily focused on theoretical physics, with a particular emphasis on magnetism. His research in this area led to the development of the Stoner–Wohlfarth model, a notable achievement in the field of magnetism.

Wohlfarth's collaboration with his doctoral advisor, E.C. Stoner, resulted in the creation of the Stoner–Wohlfarth model, which has had a lasting impact on the study of magnetism. In recognition of his contributions, the Institute of Physics' Magnetism Group established the annual Wohlfarth Memorial Lecture in his honor. Wohlfarth passed away in 1988, leaving behind a legacy of important work in the field of physics, particularly in the area of magnetism.
