російський політик
Julius Martov was a prominent Russian Marxist theorist and revolutionary, born in 1873. He is best known for his role as a leader of the Mensheviks, a faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. Martov's early career was marked by a close friendship and collaboration with Vladimir Lenin, with whom he shared a passion for revolutionary ideals. However, their relationship took a turn after the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party's Second Congress in 1903, which resulted in a significant split within the party.
As the leader of the Mensheviks, Martov became a key figure in Russian politics, and his ideas and actions had a significant impact on the country's revolutionary landscape. Despite his initial close ties with Lenin, Martov eventually emerged as his chief rival, representing a distinct faction within the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. Throughout his life, Martov remained committed to his Marxist beliefs and continued to play an important role in Russian revolutionary politics until his death in 1923.
