Michel Michelet

Michel Michelet was a renowned Ukrainian musician and composer, born in 1894 in Kyiv to a Jewish family. Initially named Mordkhay Khaimovich Levin, he later adopted the name Michel Michelet. His early life took him to Western Europe, eventually settling in France, where he gained recognition as a composer. Michelet's career flourished with the advent of sound film, leading to collaborations on numerous films throughout the 1930s.

Michelet's life took a significant turn with the Nazi invasion of France in 1940, prompting his immigration to the United States. In Hollywood, he continued to compose, contributing to several films noir. His work in the American film industry marked a notable period in his career. Following World War II, Michelet provided scores for various European films, further solidifying his legacy as a composer.
