Sofia Polgar is a Hungarian and Israeli chess player, born in 1974, who has established herself as a prominent figure in the world of chess. She has earned the prestigious titles of International Master and Woman Grandmaster, as awarded by the FIDE. As a former child prodigy, Sofia's talent for chess was evident from a young age, and she has gone on to achieve great success in the sport.

As a member of the renowned Polgar family, Sofia is the middle sister of Grandmasters Susan and Judit. Her impressive career has included representing Hungary in four Chess Olympiads, where she has contributed to the team's achievements, including two gold medals and one silver medal. Individually, Sofia has also excelled, winning three gold medals and one bronze medal. In addition to her competitive pursuits, Sofia is also a teacher and artist, showcasing her diverse range of talents and interests.
